Afternoon Game Rules
Monday: Four Square Capture the Flag

Four Square Capture the Flag Rules
- The rec field will be divided into four quadrants marked by orange chord.
- Each team has a “Relic” they are guarding, but the other teams don’t know what the relic is. They have to identify the relic and share that with the whole team and the rec leaders.
- If you are in another team’s boundary, they can tag you. When you are tagged, you are frozen in place.
- Each team will have 3 medics. These medics are the only players that can “unfreeze” a teammate.
- If someone with a relic is tagged in another team’s boundary, they have to drop it right where they got tagged.
- Teams can steal any relic outside of their quadrant.
- The game will run in 15 minute segments or until one team has all of the flags.
Tuesday: Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones Rules
This game is named after the famous scene in Indiana Jones where he is running away from the boulder in the canyon.
- Teams select 3 “players” for each round.
- All of the other people on the team create two circles, one inside the other like a donut. There needs to be enough space for the cage ball to be rolled.
- Players need to be scattered around the circle mixed in with other teams because they will be the ones pushing the ball to roll it toward the players in the circle.
- If the ball hits a player, then they are out.
- Rounds go until there is one player standing.
Wednesday: Barrel of Monkeys

Barrel of Monkeys Rules
- Teams all start behind their cones.
- In order to get items from the center, they have to form a chain linking arms.
- They can only grab one item at a time.
- They can also grab one item from an adjacent team.
- Teams cannot guard their piles
- Each time one person is the last monkey on the chain and grabs an item, the whole team has to go back behind the cone. Then, that person who was the last link goes to the back or the base of the link
- The team with the most items/points wins.
Thursday: Battleship

Battleship Rules
- The field is divided into four massive quadrants like capture the flag. In each quadrant, that team sets up 5 "Battleships"
- The “ships” consist of students who are lined up with each other. The rest of the team are "Ammo Runners" and "Scouts." Teams throw dodgeballs or soft foam balls across the boundaries to hit the opposing teams' ships.
- To setup for the ships, teams will walk the blindfolded “ships” out into their quadrants.
- The Ships cannot move, and they cannot see—they must wear blindfolds (or just keep their eyes closed). The teammates who are running ammo must verbally coach their ships on when to duck, when to lean, and where to blind-throw a ball to hit an enemy ship.
- Once a player is hit, they can stand up and become an ammo runner.
- The team with the most battleship pieces left at the end of the time wins.

UNSEEN
We read about the life of Jesus through the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and we see a man who is changing the way that people think about life. Jesus was "turning the world upside-down" by way of introducing a new way of life marked by humility, gentleness, and grace. He taught people how we should see other people, how we should treat other people, and how we should spend time with the Father. But, we also know that he was issuing in a different kind of kingdom with a different kind of king. He was introducing a kingdom that was at hand but not visible to the naked eye. It was a kingdom marked by the presence of God in the UNSEEN.
This year at Round Lake, we want students to walk away being so compelled by who Jesus is that they crave to follow him. We're not going to focus on how we follow him. We're not going to focus on what we should do. We want to spend a full week painting a picture of the most compelling person in the history of the world. We want to draw students to the feet of Jesus not because it's "the right thing to do" or because it's what their parents want for them. We want kids to follow Jesus because they know that there is nothing better than living in the unseen kingdom with the king of all of heaven and earth.

Leader Resources
Check-In
Bunks
Beds cannot be claimed until a student is fully registered. Don’t be a pushover. We will make sure everyone is happy with their situation. It may not happen until after campfire on Sunday night.
Binder
Every dorm gets a binder/dorm sheet. Use it to write down and learn names. The better you utilize the binder during the week, the easier checkout will be on Friday. These must be turned in at the end of the week to the Dean of Women or Men
Wristbands
Parents must present the wrist band slip on Friday. Make sure this is thoroughly communicated, as well as the 2:00 baptisms.
Gymnasium
When a student is all set, encourage them to go to the gym with a friend. This helps the parents scoot along and let their kid get acclimated with the week.
Check-Out
Wristbands
Parents must present corresponding wristband numbers. If this is not available, ask for a valid photo ID. If the situation is more complicated, reach out to Micah.
Early Dismissal
Early dismissal is handled by Micah. Students must be signed out by a parent with wristbands.
Staff Dismissal
Staff may start to leave at 3pm. This ensures that communication does not break down during the initial rush of parents.
Decisions
We will offer decisions to follow Christ throughout the week. Just because these are corporate times to come forward does not mean decisions are restricted to these times. Talk about salvation in your group times and get the ball rolling. If one of your students or a student you have connected with makes a decision, here are steps to take:
Listen.
They likely have a lot of emotion and are sorting it out. You don’t want to push, but we want to hear them talk about forgiveness from Jesus and following God.
Explain.
As you listen, you might catch that they have part of it and need a few blanks filled in. Don’t make this hard: Jesus died to make me new when I was far from God. Use your own story when trying to explain what this means. The best way to explain this to young people is to make sure they understand what it means for Jesus to be their king. They are not “asking Jesus into their heart.” They are proclaiming that Jesus is king of their whole life.
Ask.
“So, you want to be baptized?” Figure out if they want to do this at camp on Friday. If so, ask who they would like to baptize them (just has to be someone who has been baptized.)
Call.
Mom and Dad need to know. This can be an anxious moment or an awesome moment. Mom and Dad see them every day; you get them for a week. Bring the parents into this moment no matter what.
Encourage.
When you go back to group, it should be a celebration. Tell the student how proud and excited you are about the decision they’ve made.
