Sunday Mornings

Wednesday Nights

9:00am-11:30am

Kids  from  birth-age through 6th grade have opportunities to grow closer to Jesus in ways that best fit their needs!

Our Birth through 5-year-olds have classes where they experience learning about Jesus, singing, and of course plenty of time to play and grow together.

Our K-6th Graders grow in their relationship with Jesus through large group and small group time on Sunday mornings. Large group time includes worship, teaching, and a video segment designed to point kids towards Jesus in a fun and interactive way. Small group timeincludes discussion and activities that help kids apply what they’re learning to their daily lives.

6:30pm-7:30pm

Kids classes on Wednesday evenings are from 6:30 to 7:30. Parents can bring their kids in the Entrance A by the playground.
  • The nursery is open for children 0-2 yrs. of age.
  • 3yr-5yr: Our preschool aged kids meet in a small group learning about who Jesus is and how he loves them!
  • K-3rd Class: Our younger elementary kids meet in a small group to learn Bible truths, build skills in memorization, and participate in service to others. This group regularly visits a nearby nursing facility to spread joy and encourage residents.
  • 4th-6th Class: Our older elementary kids meet as a small group to follow the Christ in Youth SuperStart! curriculum. Designed for preteens the lesson materials help kids strengthen their growing faith and walk with Jesus.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my child needs me?
Provided that your family is listed in the Planning Center database, we will be able to text you when your child needs you.  Visitors should complete a Visitor’s Card providing their cell phone number so they can be contacted if needed.
How does HCC handle allergies?
Every effort is made to offer a safe environment for children with food allergies.  Please make certain to list food allergies on the registration card.  If you are visiting, please make certain the attendant is made aware of your child’s food allergy.  Snacks in the children’s ministry area are always nut-free.  Gluten-free options are available for children who may require this option.
What safety guidelines are followed for approving volunteers?
Every volunteer working with children is required to complete a background check on a semi-annual basis. For additional information about our safety policies, review Pages 8-10 in our Parent Handbook.
What should I do if my child asks about getting baptized?
This is a great question! First, it’s important to note that children begin asking questions about baptism long before they are ready to make a decision for Christ. We provide resources for parents and children that facilitate a conversation about this life-decision and help determine the child’s readiness. Please contact Sandy Spence for this resource.
What are your diaper changing room and restroom policies?
Diaper changing stations are available in the women’s restroom and the family restroom in the main hallway at the west end of the building. Children in the Nursery are changed as needed by volunteers. Parents of children in the Toddler Class will be contacted if their child needs to be changed. Diaper changing stations are sanitized weekly.

A small restroom is located in the Nursery area, and the Toddler and Preschool classes have a shared restroom. There is a boys’ and a girls’ restroom available for the elementary children to use. These spaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
Where can I nurse my child?
A nursing room for mothers is provided in the nursery area. This space is available on Sundays and at any other time the church is open.
What does my child need to bring to church?
Families should provide a diaper bag with needed supplies for young children.  In addition to diapers, we encourage parents to provide bottles or food if your child will need to be fed during the services.  A change of clothes is also helpful, along with a pacifier or comfort blanket/animal to help calm your child if they become anxious.

Older children are encouraged to bring a Bible to class.
Cell phones are not permitted, and we prefer that children do not bring toys to class. In addition, to ensure the children’s area is a nut-free zone, snacks and beverages should not be carried back into the children’s area.
What are the guidelines for preteens or teens serving in children’s ministry?
Students in Grades 7-8 are encouraged to contact a member of the Family Ministry Team about serving in a monthly rotation in the nursery, toddler, or preschool areas. High School students are encouraged to contact Sandy about serving in the elementary or preschool ministry area.
